Biography

Charlotte Laws is a Greater Valley Glen Councilmember, a Los Angeles Commissioner, an author and a syndicated columnist.

She is the founder and president of the League for Earth & Animal Protection ( LEAP ) - http://www.LEAPnonprofit.org and the Los Angeles Directors of Animal Welfare ( DAW ) www.DAWprogram.org

Charlotte sits on the Advisory Board for the Center on Animal Liberation Affairs ( CALA ).

Charlotte attained a Ph.D. in Social Ethics from the University of Southern California (USC) and holds two Master's Degrees: in Professional Writing (USC) and in Social Ethics (USC). She also has two Bachelor Degrees: in Philosophy and in Theatre Arts (CSUN). Charlotte completed doctoral level coursework at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and post-doctoral study at Oxford University, England.

Charlotte is the author of "Meet the Stars and "Armed for Ideological Warfare." She also authored a chapter the 2006 book, "Igniting a Revolution, Voices In Defense of Mother Earth," (edited by Dr. Steven Best and Anthony J. Nocella, II).

Charlotte has written numerous articles published in Newsweek, The L.A. Times, Counterpunch, Special Report, Mad Dogs and Englishmen, The Simon, The Oakland Tribune, The Daily News, Publisher's Weekly, E The Environmental Magazine, Opinion Editorials, Buzzle Magazine, The Globe, et al. Her articles explore a variety of topics from philosophy to politics, law, education, real estate, and social issues.

Charlotte has been interviewed on the following television shows: Larry King Live, The Late Show, Good Day L.A., NBC News, Inside Edition, Fox News, CBS News, ABC News, The Journal, Oprah Winfrey, AM Los Angeles, in addition to numerous local radio / TV programs. People magazine interviewed her for one of their issues.

Charlotte is listed in Who's Who in California and Notable American Women. In her 20's, she worked as a model and appeared as an actress in movies, commercials and television shows.

She speaks regularly at events around the country on a broad range of topics.
